Overview
Culture and standards in sports often live trapped in a coach's head or inside unopened binders, fading the moment the coach leaves the gym. This, Build A Team Podcast That Speaks For You guide, introduces how to use NotebookLM as a tool to solve this scaling problem by turning a program's written documents and voice notes into an AI hosted audio show or podcast.
Details
Coaches can build a customized program podcast by gathering four to eight core sources, including a philosophy document, team standards, practice plans, and a season calendar. Crucially, coaches add a typed "Coach's Note," voice memos, or memoir pages to supply their authentic voice, cadence, and personal stories. Using NotebookLM, coaches configure a strict chat persona to match their program's direct, standard-driven language. They can then choose from four audio formats (Deep Dive, Brief, Critique, or Debate) to suit different functional needs like player onboarding, staff alignment, or parent recruitment.
What You Will Create
Culture Episode: A flagship, 15-minute Deep Dive audio overview explaining program standards and non-negotiables for players and assistants.
Recruiting Pitch Podcast: A dedicated prospect-facing episode and interactive Q&A designed to answer family questions about development and trust.
Standards Q&A Hub: An always-on, chat-driven notebook that gives players instant, text-based answers regarding daily team logistics and expectations.
Staff Install: A coaching resource featuring debate and deep-dive audio to ensure every assistant teaches the same standards consistently.
Why It Matters
Program culture fails when it relies solely on physical presence and repetitive lectures. By transforming written systems into an on demand podcast, a coach's voice can be in multiple places at once. Recruits can hear program standards before arriving, assistants can align on teaching methods instantly and players can access clear answers without guesswork.
